Hello Students and Parents,  

Welcome to the new 2011-2012 school year.  We wish you a very successful year in school.  Our summer chess program in the libraries went well and the summer chess camp was excellent.  Students who attended both programs are now proficient chess players.  We are looking forward to seeing you compete in some chess tournaments this year.   Below are the programs that we are offering this year.  All of the programs are partly sponsored so they are brought to you at a discounted rate.

Playing chess has proven to help students enhance their creativity, improve their power of concentration, develop and expand critical thinking skills, boost memory and retention, and achieve superior academic performance.

Additionally, chess has been shown to augment problem-solving capabilities, provide cultural enrichment, advance intellectual maturity, and enhance self-esteem.

After-School Study Program

We will open on September 7th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.

Saturday Chess  and Math Classes:

Our Saturday Chess  and  Math classes  are from 6:30 PM –  9:00 PM every week.  The program runs on the Brewster School District calender. 

Students do not have to attend our after-school studies to join these classes but they must be serious about competing in scholastics tournaments, and improving their math skills.  We use the Math Olympiad curriculum. 

In the chess classes we study chess tactics and strategies.  We also explore different types of openings, middle and end games.
