After-school Study Center
Our after school study center is currently geared for children in 1st thru 8th grade. Our after-school program operates on the Brewster School District calender. We will open on September 7th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, and close for the Semester on December 21, 2011. Students are encouraged to have a snack and relax for about 20 minutes after arriving. They are then lectured by a chess grand master for 30 minutes. After lecture they play a 30 minute timed chess game against each other. After they are finished with their games they take a 15 minute break to socialize with each other and then begin their homework. Homework will be finished by 5:50 PM and the kids should be ready to be picked up promptly by 6:00 PM.
In our Study Center we help the children to:
- Organize and prioritize their study materials
- Complete their homework for a given day
- Understand and reinforce difficult Math concepts
Chess Class
In our chess class the children are taught by an International
Master (IM). They will learn the art of chess and be given
opportunities to participate in tournaments throughout the school
year.
After School Study = $65.00
After School Chess = $15.00 per class
After School Study + Chess = $80.00 per week
